Educational Technology Services

The Educational Technology Services Department provides numerous services including: our audiovisual library, which includes over 5,000 educational titles delivered to school sites on a weekly basis; the SBCEO Portal, which includes premium web-based resources such as California Streaming and Lesson Planet—both of which were recently aligned to the California Common Core Standards; and our many student and teacher events. Computers For Families

Each school year, Computers for Families distributes 600 computers in 28 South Coast elementary schools at a series of meetings. Visitors are welcome to attend and share in the excitement as students and families their computers. Please follow the link to the calendar, but call the Computers for Families Office before attending in the event changes have been made.

Our project operates under the joint auspices of the Santa Barbara Partners in Education and the Santa Barbara County Education Office. We are supported through the commitment of many Santa Barbara area businesses, foundations and individuals, including major grants from Raytheon, Venoco, Inc., ABC-CLIO, Cox Cable, Pacific Bell, Hendry Telephone Products, the Ann Jackson Family Foundation, Santa Barbara Foundation, Verizon Foundation (formerly GTE), the Towbes Foundation, and the Wood-Claeyssens Foundation. We have also received two Technology Innovation Challenge Grants from the U.S. Department of Education, through the support of Congresswoman Lois Capps.
